2016 03 05 Mardi Gras 4

We are back again in 2017 to march with pride at this years Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras!

For a number of years DEFGLIS has attended the Sydney Mardi Gras to display our support to an evolving culture within the Australian Defence Force, as well as to support the LGBTI community throughout Australia.

Since 2013 DEFGLIS has been marching side by side with uniformed contingents from the Navy, Army and Air Force. This year we will continue the tradition and have a full contingent of Navy, Army, Air Force and DEFGLIS participating.

Defence will march along with many other government agencies such as the NSW Police Force, Fire brigade, Ambulance Service and the State Emergency Service.

Have you ever thought about marching with us? The DEFGLIS contingent is open to all Family members, Defence civilians, ex-serving members, allies and friends!

The participation of Defence in the parade meets Defence's objectives aimed at enhancing capability through the diversity and inclusive practice as identified in the Defence Diversity and Inclusion Strategy 2012–2017.
